Sister, in every stage of life, we all crave wisdom. We yearn to make the right choices, navigate challenges with grace, and live a life that honors God. I've been diving deep into the book of Proverbs lately, committing to reading a chapter daily, and it's been a game-changer. It's such a rich source of instruction on how to live a life pleasing to God. This morning, as I finished Chapter Two, a powerful truth resonated within me: God calls us to seek wisdom. He doesn't just hand it to us on a silver platter. It's something we actively pursue.
Proverbs 2:1-5 beautifully illustrates this:
"My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding, indeed, if you call out for insight and lift your voice for understanding, if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God."
This passage isn't just beautiful poetry; it's a roadmap to wisdom. It tells us that seeking wisdom requires intention and effort. It's not passive; it's an active pursuit. This led me to ask myself a crucial question: How do I gain wisdom every day?
The answer, clear as day, came to me: I have to prioritize reading and studying God's Word. It's not enough to just skim the surface; I need to go deeper. I need to ask: What is God saying to me through these verses? What is He showing me? How does this apply to my life, right here, right now?
This realization brought another truth to light: I need to plan and schedule time with God. Just like any important appointment, my time with Him needs to be on the calendar. Life gets busy, I know. We're all juggling so much. But what happens when time is tight? We need alternatives! A backup plan ensures that even on the most hectic days, we connect with God. This might be a podcast while driving, a favorite devotional by the sink, or simply taking a few moments to pray and ask God to speak to your heart and grant you wisdom for the day. The key is to avoid distractions and ensure that we intentionally spend time with God. That is wisdom in action.
So, my dear sister, I ask you: What do you need to do to spend time with God? What's your plan? Let's encourage each other on this journey of seeking wisdom and growing closer to our loving Father.
