Winning the Morning Battlefield: Preparing Your Heart for the Day

Get ready to walk in victory.
ree
That familiar beep, beep, beep sounds, and you turn off your morning alarm. . "Thank you, Jesus, for another day," you whisper, a simple prayer of gratitude. But then, the thoughts begin to swirl. The to-do list, the worries, the "what ifs." Before you know it, precious minutes have ticked away, and you're scrambling, running late, and feeling utterly unprepared. Sound familiar?

I've been there. Too many times, in fact. It dawned on me one morning that this wasn't just procrastination or laziness. It was a subtle, insidious attack. The enemy was whispering, "Just a few more minutes. You're tired. It's not that important." And the result? My precious time with God, my devotional, was skipped. I was rushing into the day, a battlefield of traffic, deadlines, and emotional challenges, without my armor.

We, as sisters,  face a unique set of battles every day. Whether it's the pressures of work, the demands of family, or the internal struggles with self-doubt, we need to be prepared. We need to be intentional about equipping ourselves for the day ahead.

Ephesians 6:11-12 reminds us, "Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places."

Our mornings are a crucial time to put on that armor. To stop being derailed by the enemy's whispers and intentionally seek God's presence.  I have become intentional with my morning routine and I would like to recommend these steps to help you win the morning battlefield:

  • Prioritize Time with God: Don't let the enemy steal your devotional time. Even a few minutes of reading scripture, praying, or simply sitting in His presence can make a world of difference.

  • Speak Truth to Yourself: When those negative thoughts creep in, counter them with God's truth. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13).

  • Seek Renewal: Allow the Holy Spirit to renew your mind and spirit. "But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint" (Isaiah 40:31).

  • Embrace the Word: The Word of God is our weapon against the enemy. It's our guide, our comfort, and our strength. "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path" (Psalm 119:105).

By being intentional about spending time with God in the morning, we can enter each day with renewed strength, peace, and direction. We can face the chaos of the world with confidence, knowing that we are equipped for the battle.

Sis, choose to win the morning battlefield and walk in the victory that Christ has already won for us.

Blessings,

Glenda
